​Hi everyone and welcome to the official website of Freshwaterpredators.  My name is Jason and I've been thoroughly enjoying this hobby for over 15 years. My love of fish actually started when I was about 3 years old at my grandparents place in Michigan. And from there, my fishing grew into an obsession which had me wanting to understand the fish's behavior, habitat, etc. This led me into keeping fish in tanks so I could observe them and their behaviors.  Now I have over a dozen tanks housed with breeding pairs and growouts of SA/CA Cicihlids. I take pride and ownership in everything I do, especially my fish.

I love this hobby and my first approach is as a hobbyist not a salesman. This is my passion.  I treat each and every fish as my personal stock, which gets taken care of and spoiled just like my Wife and  kids;) So when someone receives fish from me, they are very healthy, have great color,  disease free, and eat right away.

​I have big plans for my hobby!!! I started several years ago with the idea of wanting to change the umbee game. Which I know for a fact is in affect. I have been working diligently to create the best lines of Blue umbees in the game and on the market. Just recently I have completed my creation for the best lines of Blue umbees and I am calling this line Project Blues. What I did was work with Rio Magdelana, Location X, and Location Z . Breeding them and combining the genes to Create a tall bodied, Beautiful blues, highly freckled masterpiece!!! So please feel free to message me and ask me questions. I will have fry listed in my stocklist for availability.

 

I am also working on select species such as Festae, Beani, Haitiensis, Midas, Escodido, Ornatums and more to bring you the best quality available for affordable prices.
